When Salt Lake County government hosted its premiere Climate Change Action series, I set to work creating the look and feel that would link Utah to fluctuating temperatures, and grab the public's attention.

In 2015, the Salt Lake County government in Utah hosted a multi-disciplinary panel discussion series on the impacts of climate change in Utah, and its role in science, the economy, media, and religion. I was tapped to create visually impactful typography that connected each engagement back to climate change, rising temperatures, and the state of Utah.

I selected a color palette that evokes fluctuating temperatures, including yellows, oranges, and reds to match a bullseye I would later include in other design work surrounding the event, and incorporated these colors into each of the series’ titles. For the series, I used the shape of the state of Utah as a template and constructed individual series titles to fit within its shape and mold, visually connecting back to the state.
