Pitched Stories

A pitch is a short email that introduces a story—whether aligned with a press release or not—that provides journalists and editors with key details that they in turn use to decide whether to write a story. Not all pitches are created equal. I create media pitches using a specialized process honed over nearly 20 years to generate stand-out results. Recent highlights of my work include:

  • Increased media coverage for a mid-sized science museum by more than 344% over the prior year…in just six months.
  • Led an international pitch team to generation of 183 stories, 370 million media impressions, and $9.95 million in PR value for a multi-million dollar Seattle tech startup in first six contract months, coverage in FT, Economic Times, NYT, Forbes, multiple Business Journals, and more.
  • In one year, secured ~130 media stories totaling $1.14 million in earned media value for a previously “no coverage” cultural organization in a small, rural community.
